Support MAC

What MAC offers is a free face-to-face debt counselling service, which empowers people to get out and stay out of debt and begin to live freer and fuller lives. We offer hope and a way forward to anyone regardless of how desperate their financial situation is.

Your donations of time and money make an incredible difference to the people we help. These are just some of the comments we have received:

“Thank you for your help and kindness - more than we can express in words”

“Thanks… you’re miracle workers”

“Thank you for lifting this debt mountain off my back long enough for me to see a path up it. It feels good to be able to see it this way and on a positive note”

So how can you support us?

As a registered Charity, we rely on donations from our supporters in order to keep doing this vital work. If you would like to support us financially, please contact us for a standing order mandate and gift aid form. When you have completed them, return them to our office. If you wish to send a gift by cheque, please send it to the office and make it payable to ‘Cambridge Money Advice Centre’. If sending a cheque, please remember to send your gift aid form in at the same time.

You can now also donate to MAC online via Local Giving.

Local Giving will also allow you to set up a regular gift to MAC via a Direct Debit. Regular gifts are particularly meaningful because we work with our clients for as long as needed; this might be months or years. A regular gift allows us an income we can depend upon, so we can focus on providing the most dedicated support to those we help. For the price of a coffee each month, you can help change lives.

Who are Cambridge MAC?

In 2004, a small group of people met together with a vision to make a practical Christian response to the growing problem of debt in our city and country. This led to the establishment of MAC - The Cambridge Money Advice Centre. Since then we have seen remarkable growth and real answers to prayer.

It was initially through the Citizens’ Advice Bureau that we received our first clients, referred by them because of the sheer demand and the fact that they trusted us to do a professional job. As we have become known so other clients have been recommended to us. Recently, we have been able to forge links with the Housing Support Services, Family, Social and Mental Health services.

Trained and experienced…

Our advisers are fully trained to provide debt advice and have a wealth of experience between them. All of them are volunteers and represent many churches in Cambridge.

We are part of Community Money Advice, which assists churches and other community organisations in setting up debt advice centres in their local community and supports us in the work we do.
